OGN Governance Portal Now Supports Vote Delegation

We are very pleased to have an active community that is participating in shaping the future of Origin products by voting on proposals using our Governance Portal. With the goal of making voting even more convenient, we have added support to delegate votes also known as Proxy voting.

This enables all OGN holders to forward their voting power to another Ethereum address. Choosing this option does not strip you from your voting power. The delegatee you have forwarded your voting power to receives the extra voting power only on proposals you don’t vote for.

This is convenient in cases when there is someone you trust and have an aligned interest with when it comes to the future of Origin’s products. Or an Origin team member you would like to forward your voting power to. It is also useful when users have OGN stored more safely in a hardware wallet and don’t want to go through the hassle of connecting that to the computer. Just delegate the voting power from the hardware wallet to a more accessible one e.g. Metamask and that one for voting.

How to delegate OGN vote?

• Go to: https://snapshot.org/#/delegate.
• Type in the address or ENS name you want to delegate to.
• There is an option to limit the delegation power to only Origin’s products by selecting Limit delegation to a specific space and typing in “origingov.eth”.
• Click confirm to save your delegation.

After completing the steps your OGN voting power is successfully delegated to the address of your choosing. Here are some examples of who you could delegate to:

• joshfraser.eth — Origin’s cofounder overseeing OUSD development
• tomlinton.eth — OUSD developer
• danielvf.eth — OUSD developer
• grabec.eth — OUSD developer
